Classic, fish and chips.

Very succulent haddock in a lovely crispy batter and deep fried (proper) chips.

Kinja'd!!!

I didn’t get mushy peas or a pickled egg. I was hungry and in a hurry.

One of two British national dishes. The other being Chicken Tikka Masala.

That looks yummy. I only wish I liked fish.

This makes me hungrier than the kebabs. We have a fish ‘n chips place up the road I should go to more often.

With sea salt and malt vinegar it takes on a whole new flavour. The fish I like with a wedge of lemon gently squeezed over the top.

I'm all about malt vinegar. Dammit, it's bedtime and I'm starving now!

It was really yummy. The fish so milky and succulent.

Love me some fish and chips. Perhaps that'll be my Valentine's Day meal to myself.

Probably better than the impromptu fish stick sandwich I made earlier.

Remember the mushy peas with a hint of mint and the lemon wedge for the fish.

I’ve never got on with fish or crab sticks.

I love a good fish finger buttie with either tomato ketchup or salad cream in buttered bread.

I had to look up what a buttie was.

Looks like my frankenstein concoctions are actually socially accepted meals across the pond...

Food can be as interesting or as boring as people want to make it. Sometimes it’s out of ease or occasion but recipes came from trial and error and even then they are not locked in and open to interpretation by the cook.

Take pigs in blankets, then take toad in the hole, now put the two together and you get pigs in blankets in the hole.

I was in America one time and ordered fish and chips.

“Do you want fries with that?”

Lol.

I’ve an image now in my head of a fish, chips and some crisps sitting on a plate in front of you. You thinking ‘what the hell’, while the cook and the waitress are looking at you thinking ‘what the hell’.

This looks fairly similar to what’s common in Australia :)
